My Art!

I decided to try my hand at painting a canvas for Emma's wall...I had seen a lot of homemade work on Etsy, and figured I could do that!  So I tried and this is what I came up with, Emma loves it so that is all that matters.

Tomorrow I will show you what Sergio did!!!

Golf Time!!

After my Mom visiting and we went mini golfing and the kids had no idea what they were doing, Sergio decided to start teaching them how to play golf. So we decided on Sunday to take them to the local driving range!!  They did pretty good, Emma really got the hang of it after a few tries, Noah not so much!! And afterwards of course we had to have ice pops!!

Mom's Visit Day 2

The last day of my mom's visit...day 2.  Sergio had to leave on a trip so it was just me and the kids and my Mom, my brother Daniel and his friend Mick.  After convincing my Mom to skip out of church (which was a very hard thing to too) I decided to take them to the quiet relaxing beach that we love to go to, Dania Beach near Ft. Lauderdale.  So we packed out lunches and headed out!

The kids love this beach because there are way less people and it is much easier to keep an eye on the kids.  So as soon as we got there, Daniel and the kids got to work on a sand castle.   The kids went out with my mom to look for shells.  I loved this part of the day because my kids actually got to spend some quality time with Grandma! Usually we visit at the farm, and there are always other things such as work and house duties, here she had nothing to do and it was great!!!

After the beach we decided to head to this place called Boomers which was like a huge arcarde, with bumper boats, arcade games, mini golf, rides and go kart racing.  The kids rode a few rides and spent some time with Mick and Daniel on the go karts and bumper boats.  Then we played a little bit of mini golf, which was more frustrating than anything, the kids had no idea what they were doing, everything was getting a little irritated!  After about 4 hours, I think my mom and I had enough of this place so we headed out, on our way home we stopped to get dinner, we were all very exhausted!!!  It was such a gorgeous night, so Mick and Daniel went out in our neighborhood looking for coconuts and my mom and I just hung out watching the Super Bowl!

Here are some pictures of Day 2!

Even though my Mom and brother were only here for 2 days, I am so grateful they came!! I really think my Mom enjoyed herself and I think she actually relaxed!!  And the best part we actually got to spend some quality time with her which my kids really enjoyed.  Hopefully next time she will bring my Dad!!

Mom's Visit Day 1

My brother Daniel had been complaining of the cold in Iowa and I would always tell him how warm it is here, and he finally said he wanted to come, at first I didn't believe him but he was serious and he told me that my mom might come as well, which I for sure did not believe.  My mom has not taken time off work as long as I can remember.  And she hasn't been on a vacation probably since I was about 11, and the whole family went to go visit my sister Dee in Florida which was over 20 years ago so I knew for sure she wouldnt come. But somehow my brother convinced her and she came!!!!

The kids were super excited that she came, they wanted to take her to the beach, show Grandma their rooms, etc...this would be the first time my mom has ever seen my house! This was exciting!!

They hit a few bumps on their way here, it was my Mom, my brother Daniel and his friend Mick, and none of them are very experienced travelers at all, so when their flight our of Des Moines was cancelled I thought for sure they would just stay home, but they didn't and they finally made it to FL, about 6 hours later than expected and a little tired.

They were going to be here for only two days so we had to pack a lot in, in two day.  So the first day Sergio was with us we decided to take them to an Alligator Farm/Airboat ride.  We had never been so this was a first for us as well.  We all had a blast, the place was not crowded at all.  We got to see a lot of Alligators and few Crocodiles, as well as Snakes, and birds. But I think the best part was the Airboat ride!  We didn't get many pictures because the driver informed us to put our cameras away because they could get wet.

After the Airboat ride we decided to show them South Beach!  It was pretty crowded and a little breezy for my mom, but it was nice to take her to the beach.  She really wasn't into that crowd of people though! And as soon as we got there Daniel and Mick went exploring.

After the beach we went home for a quick pit stop and then headed off to dinner to the Rustin Inn Crabhouse!  A very popular place, however most of the food my Mom and Daniel have never had before so they didn't think it was the best!  They didn't however try froglegs and Alligator which my mom really liked both!  Here are some pictures of our very busy very exhausting first day.
